The Textile Engineering Department was established in 2005. The Department offers B.Sc. in Textile Engineering degree under the Science and Engineering Faculty of City University. The purpose of establishing the Department of Textile Engineering is to produce Textile Engineering graduates who are able to perform innovative, technical and managerial roles as required by textile and apparel industries and relevant industries in Bangladesh. The Department has currently more than 700 students and several thousands of graduates in the textile and apparel industries.
The Department currently offers B.Sc. in Textile Engineering degree with major in (1) Yarn Manufacturing Engineering (2) Fabric Manufacturing Engineering (3) Wet Processing Engineering and (4) Apparel Manufacturing Engineering. Total credits required for graduation is 156.
